ALUMA
While we are saddened by the closure of the centre on August 31, 2026, we take great pride in the difference our organization has made through our many decades of support. Our commitment has helped ensure that vital services were available to individuals and families when they needed them most.

During a recent visit to Israel ahead of the ICJW Executive Meeting and the Herczeg Jerusalem Seminar in Haifa, I had the opportunity to visit ALUMA’s Tel Aviv office and meet with Deputy CEO Gadi Lifshitz.
ALUMA’s long-standing commitment to providing professional mental health care to individuals, couples, and families remains strong, even amid ongoing challenges. Since October 7, ALUMA has seen a significant increase in clients seeking support for anxiety, depression, and trauma, particularly among families and children.
A tour of the therapy rooms included one equipped with a two-way mirror used for training new therapists. This vital teaching resource was made possible through a bequest from Ann Keith, a devoted member of the Vancouver Section, whose legacy continues to strengthen ALUMA’s work.
Thanks to NCJWC’s long-standing financial partnership and emergency funding, ALUMA has been able to expand training, supervision, and caregiver-support initiatives, ensuring vital services remain accessible during this critical time.
